interpretation is a process of uncovering meaning, and the science of qur’anic exegesis is responsible for understanding the divine intent. imami (shi‘a) exegesis is one of the oldest, most dynamic, and deeply rooted exegetical traditions in the islamic world, with its origins tracing back to imam ‘ali (peace be upon him). after him, the other shi‘a imams expanded this exegetical tradition. imami scholars, throughout different historical periods, served as guardians of this heritage and made extensive efforts to preserve and promote it. due to its close connection with the legacy of the ahl al-bayt (peace be upon them), imami exegesis holds exceptional importance and necessity for an accurate and precise understanding of the qur’an. the journal of imami exegesis, affiliated with the qur’an and hadith research institute, is published to fulfill these needs and objectives at an academic and research level.
